Barbour Concrete Company’s production team of 30 – 40 skilled laborers works year-round, rain or shine in covered work areas. We are proud to be a drug-free workplace. Our average tenure of plant personnel is 5.5 years, eight of those individuals have been with us more than 10 years.
We employ skilled laborers as well as “rookies” who receive on the job training. Our manufacturing processes are governed by the National Precast Concrete Association’s Certified Plant Program with strict guidelines for quality and safety.
Barbour pays 70% of the health insurance premium for employee base coverage and 100% for an employee life insurance policy. Employees are paid weekly through direct deposit, and receive service-based paid vacation and holidays. Pay increases and promotions are based solely on merit (productivity, efficiency and attendance). We also offer optional dependent health coverage, dental and vision insurance, 401k plan, Section 125 Medical Reimbursement, AFLAC and uniforms. Company-wide lunches and holiday parties occur throughout the year.
